Whether you’re a curly hair expert or beginner, finding the right products for you’re curly hair makes a huge difference. Perfect curly don’t happen by accident. In today’s post I will share my favorite curly hair products I use and those that have actually made a difference.
In this post I will share a variety of product types, if you’re looking for recommendations on specific products then I will be making more posts related to specific product types soon.
For reference my curly hair type is 3B. You can check yours using the image below:
Here is also a list of what I look for when picking curly hair products:
- No parabens (important)
- No sulfates (important)
- Moisturising
- Proteins (depends)
So here is my list of 10 must-try products!
1.Quai curl cream
Although, it’s more on the high-end and expensive side, I believe the quality of this curl cream is unmatched. I like to use it after washing my hair and when my hair is soaking wet. I apply a small amount of this cream all over my hair. After applying, I finger coil my hair for definition. When my hair dries, there is no frizz and my hair feels super soft and smells really good. I know that some of my friends with curly hair also really like this product. If you’re looking to purchase this product you can buy it at sephora.
2. Moroccan hair oil
As an Indian growing up my mom would always ask me to oil my hair and I hated the sticky and oily feeling. But after discovering this hair oil I feel excited to oil my hair. Naturally hair oiling has many awesome benefits such as promoting hair health/growth. Apon using this product I’ve noticed that it makes my hair feel super soft, smells great and is very light and wearable.
3. Hask deep conditioner
This product is very nourishing and I use a deep conditioner typically once or twice a week. This deep conditioner helps my hair easily detangle and is a great affordable product. Detangling my curly hair has always been hard for me before and would take a very long time.
I first came across it at guardian or watsons here in Singapore and have only got great things to say about it.
4. Shea moisture hair smoothie
I use this product like a curl cream and it’s got protein which really helps with frizzy hair. When I use this my curls are definitely more defined and less frizzy. However, it’s important to note that protein can reduce the volume in your hair especially if you have thin curly hair. I would recommend this for more curly/coily hair. I think it works well for my hair because I’m not big on volume and I want zero frizz. It totally depends on your preferences!
5. Aussie shampoo and conditioner
Shampoo and conditioner is a staple no matter what your hair type is. Honestly, this shampoo is affordable and does the job very well. It doesn’t strip my scalp from any nutrients and is in fact very nourishing. I don’t think I’ve heard a lot of people talk about this brand but I think it’s underrated. I would definitely continue to repurchase. and use every wash day.
Those were my favorite go-to products and I hope this post was informative and encourages you to try these products out. But if there is one product you should definiately try from this list it would be the quai hair cream. It’s seriously the best curl cream I’ve tried for volume, soft, light and pretty curls.
